A WORLD WITHOUT SICKLE CELL: Jephthah OHIOMOKHARE Sickle Cell Foundation

My Dear Friend,

JEPHTHAH OHIOMOKHARE SICKLE CELL FOUNDATION MARKS WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY

World Sickle Cell Day is a United Nation’s recognised day to raise awareness of sickle cell at national and international levels, it falls on June 19.
The Jephthah Ohiomokhare Sickle Cell Foundation is pleased to bring to your notice our decision to commemorate the day with an essay writing competition in Jephthah's former school.

We have chosen The NAOWA College for what you might call obvious reasons. Our Jephthah would have been 18 years old this June, and we thought his post humors birthday and world Sickle Cell day should be marked amongst those he spent most of his time with and had learnt to love.

Our aim is to make sure Jeph's friends and children every where are aware and properly educated about the importance of knowing their genotype before choosing a life partner.

This is why we have chosen an essay writing competition in the school as our way of creating awareness.

The topic of the essay is ‘A Future without Sickle Cell’. There would be senior and junior categories, with students from JSS1 to JSS3 representing the junior category, and SS1 to SS3 representing the senior category.
Winners would be announced at a small event on 28th June (Jeph's birth day) 2019 and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in both categories would be awarded.

My friend, I'm hoping that you can support us, either by sponsoring the cash prizes or by just being there on the 28th.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for always being for us.

Sincerely,

Emmanuel and Senami Ohiomokhare,
Founders, Jephthah Ohiomokhare Sickle Cell Foundation.
